Dodja Errands ("we", "us") is an errand marketplace in Nigeria that connects errand creators who need something done with runners who do it. This policy explains what information the Dodja Errands app collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Name, email address, phone number, profile photo	To create your account, show who you are dealing with, and contact you about your errands.
Errand details: descriptions, item photos, pickup and drop-off addresses	To post, match and complete errands.
Precise location, while the app is in use	To set pickup and drop-off points, show runners errands near them, and let an errand creator follow their runner during a live errand. Location is only shared with the other person on that errand, and only while it is active.
Messages you send in the app	To let errand creators and runners talk about an errand.
Wallet transactions, tips and withdrawal requests	To hold and release payments and pay runners. Card details are entered on our payment provider's secure page and never reach our servers.
Runner verification: government ID type and number, ID photo, selfie, guarantor name and phone	To confirm runners are who they say they are. Stored privately and seen only by our verification team.
Bank account details (runners)	To send your withdrawals.
Ratings, reviews, favourites, referral codes	To build trust between users and run our rewards programme.
Device notification token	To send you alerts about your errands, if you allow notifications.

How we use it

• Running the service: matching errands, tracking deliveries, processing payments, resolving disputes.
• Safety and fraud prevention: verifying runners, investigating reported problems, enforcing our terms.
• Communication: notifications and emails about your account and errands. We do not send marketing email without your consent.
• Improvement: understanding how the app is used so we can fix problems and improve it.

We do not sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

• The other person on your errand. Errand creators and runners see each other's name, photo, rating and the errand addresses. The errand creator sees the runner's live location during the errand.
• Service providers that help us run the app: Supabase (hosting and database), Google (maps and notifications), Paystack (payments and bank transfers), and an identity verification provider for runner checks. They process data only on our instructions.
• Authorities, when the law requires it or to protect someone's safety.

How long we keep it

We keep your account information while your account is open. Errand and payment records are kept for as long as the law requires for financial record keeping. Verification documents are deleted once no longer needed for verification or dispute handling. Live location data is kept only for the duration of the errand.

Your choices

• Location: you can turn location access off in your phone's settings. Some features, such as finding nearby errands and live tracking, will stop working.
• Notifications: manage them in the app's Notifications settings or your phone's settings.
• Access, correction and deletion: edit your details in the app under Profile. To delete your account and data, use Account and Security in the app, or email us at the address below. We delete your data within 30 days, except records we must keep by law.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Payments are held in escrow and released only by our servers. Access to verification documents is restricted to the verification team. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and keep your login private.

Children

Dodja Errands is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

We will post any changes here and update the date at the top. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
